How it began
SpellBodan was formed by one of our engineers, who had been manufacturing luxury products for many of the top, high-street brands since 1980. Now producing our own products, we use all the experience and skills that we've collated over the last 40 years to design and manufacture a range of writing instruments, all to the highest quality.
Quality silver work
All our writing instruments are designed and crafted right here at our UK factory, where they are machined using 925 sterling silver in order to achieve the highest quality standards. Each writing instrument carries a unique serial number and is designed so that the weight is perfectly balanced for smooth and effortless writing. Given that all our writing instruments are finished with a platinum plate which does not tarnish, you'll reap the benefits of any of our products for years to come without having to resort to repeated polishes.
Because presentation is everything
Each writing instrument that we produce is supplied in a lacquered presentation box with a platinum-plated plaque. The box also comes with a hardwood desk tray that can either be used in the box or removed and used on the desk top. A ballpen and pencil can be purchased as a set if required and would come with a desk tray that accommodates both instruments. The fountain pens that we manufacture have 22 carat gold-plated nibs as standard. The nib for any of our fountain pens can be upgraded to solid 18 carat gold if required and should you want the nib to match the colour of the body, you also have the option of plating the nib in platinum.
Made to order
Our current ranges either have traditional barley patterns which we've enhanced with vertical lines for a more elegant finish or our own designed pattern which we call 'Georgian'. This pattern has flowing geometric lines that overlap to produce a beautiful repeating pattern. All patterns are produced via a traditional guilloche method (also known as 'engine tuning'), where each line is individually inscribed into the metal. Each writing instrument is finished and built after receiving the customer's order and is usually dispatched in 5-10 days.
